Nitrifying bacteria for ponds

Nitrifying bacteria transform ammonia and nitrites, resulting from fish waste and the decomposition of organic matter, into less toxic nitrates. They colonize filter media and are the foundation of stable water.

They are primarily added when starting up a new pond or a new filter, when restarting in the spring, and after treatment or a major filter cleaning. The collection offers EcoTreat Nitrifier (500 ml for 5 m³, 1 L for 10 m³, 2.5 L for 25 m³) and Aquipond NitriBoost (1 L for 10 m³, 2.5 L for 25 m³, 5 L for 50 m³), as well as starter packs that combine starter and maintenance bacteria.

Choose the size based on the actual volume of the pond, pour preferably into the filter inlet, and keep the pump running. A nitrite test allows you to monitor the startup process.
